Crock pot

posted 8th Nov
Do you think a crock pot would keep mashed potatoes warm, without ruining
them? Just for a few hours.

Dh is in charge of bringing the potatoes to his office Thanksgiving and I don't want him serving them cold or being gross from reheating in the microwave.

Idk they might get dry. Try it tomorrow for dinner and see what happens.

They probably would dry out.

I was thinking of adding a little extra milk, or sending milk with him to add and stir in throughout the morning.

My Co worker says she does this every year for Thanksgiving and they turn out fine. She makes the potatoes first thing in the morning and keeps them on low in the crock put until is time to eat. She says they do NOT dry out.

Depends on your crockpot. Mine has a setting to keep food warm though on low I should imagine that as long as it gets stirred it should be fine. Just have him bring a little milk or butter to stir in if it does get dry.

Yeah I would do that then. Just send him with milk and make sure he stirs it a lot.
