Infant and pregnant

posted 8th Nov
So I have a 7 month old and I'm 6 almost 7 weeks pregnant. He does NOT sleep, still wakes up every hour at night, and his naps are no longer than 30 minutes... If you had a pregnancy and infant this close do you have ANY suggestions? I'm a SAHM and student, my husband works and goes to school. Right now I'm pretty sick and I feel horrible leaving him to play and watch cartoons for most of the morning because I literally can't move. Also he's a BIG momma's boy so this will be hard on him. Any ways to help him with the transition?

Have you ever tried setting up a pallet on the floor & sleeping with him like that for nap?

Yeah he won't even cosleep. He sucks with sleeping. Well for me, he's always awesome for his dad, but literally the moment he sees me he whines nonstop.

Just keep BFing and playing and cuddling your LO as much as you can. Try to get out to some play dates or rec center play group with him so he can socialize with other babies and you can sit back and watch   Hopefully you'll feel better in a few weeks. Around 10 weeks you usually get some energy back.

If you can try to limit the TV exposure to maximum 1/2 hour per day it should be okay. I know experts recommend no TV before 2 years old but that just isn't always possible. I know when I went back to work at 12m I started letting dd watch a bit of tv when we got home and I was trying to put dinner together.

i know kinda know what you are going through. My son is also 7 months and fights sleep real bad. To top it off i have a 20 month old daughter and im almost 26 wks pregnant. My daughter was such a good sleeper and him a whole different story. Ive started playing him out with toys and singing to him its seems to working for the most part even though im so tired after work but if it gets him to nap longer its well worth it.

After recovering from the pregnancy time, me and my partner started thinking a cute boys name with all the efforts and consideration about its uniqueness. Even some of our relatives also helped and friends suggestions are really appreciable and we have picked his name as Edward.

I understand where you are coming from with the no sleeping baby. My son was the same for a long time. We finally just decided we were going to have to do something about it! We decided to set up a routine. 7:30pm was bath time. He plays in the tub with all his toys for about 15 mins to wear him out a little more. 8 pm is bed time every night. We make a bottle and lay him in his crib with the bottle (yes we go against the rules a little if you have a baby monitor you don't have to really worry about him choking) At first when we started the routine he screamed for an hour. The next night he screamed for 30 mins. The next night he screamed for 15 mins. The fourth day was the magic day he went to bed with his bottle and never cried a peep! Yes, it breaks your heart to hear them cry   but in the end this routine benifited us all. He naturally feel into a napping schedule as well with this whole ordeal.

I'm not comfortable letting him scream. Thanks though.
