How would you ask

Your BD to put money towards Christmas presents?
I have a lot of bills and me and LO live strictly off my income. I'm nervous about Christmas presents this year. He owes roughly 8700 in arrears and hasn't paid CS since April. He isn't working but he lives off of welfare and his parents. I know it's not his parents responsibility, it's HIS responsibility. But his parents are wealthy and I know they would let him borrow the money:

I feel so awkward talking to him at all especially about this kind of smurf.
I know I could just be like,
"Hey you're a dead beat so make yourself look better"

But I want to be nicer with my wording...

I'm having a rough time can you help with Christmas presents this year?

I just got off the phone with. Ds's doners mom, she is sending me a check for$200 to get ds presents. They are wealthy and instead of them buying something he doeant need I asked if they could help me out to get him a new car seat and a couple gifts.
