Extra fluid in balls?? TMI!!!

posted 8th Nov
Well i went to the doctors today for my son who is a month old. Me and his dad was noticeing that his balls were really big. So we asked the doctor today about it and he said that there was alot of extra fluid around them which it might go away but if not it could become a problem . My boyfirend when he was a baby he had a problem with his also and it messed him up to where one of his balls sperm is all dead. Im so worried for my son. Does anyone know what to do or has had this happen with there son??

Is it a hydrocele? I know that's a super easy surgery that's in and out the same day.

DS had that when I was pregnant and also fluid in his kidneys. His kidneys were normal when he was born and I think it was his 10 month check up when his balls were back to normal. It never caused problems with him and just went away on its own like they said it would.

If it IS a hydrocele, it won't really change in a month but to maybe fill with more fluid. It's what my husband had and it sounds kinda like what your son could have. When my husband got the surgery for it, he was in and out in about an hour...AND he had his hydrocele for over a year before he got surgery. They didn't tell you anything about it other than "it's fluid?" You could always get a second opinion...

Well my sons dad had a hernia on his and he had a surgery done where they took them out and then put them back in. But the hernia killed half of his left ball. They told him that he wasnt suposse to have kids but i guess they was wrong about that because my son is here. But im just worried that will happen to him because my doctor said it could turn into one.

Try not to worry.   I hope it goes away and he's fine!

My son had a hydrocele (which sounds like what you're describing - it's a sac of fluid around the testicle) and they just had to cut it & drain it. It was day surgery, no big deal at all. They initially thought he had an inguinal hernia because he had a little bump above the testicle, and even after an US they still thought it was a hernia...it wasn't until they got in there that they realized it was just a hydrocele. Completely harmless.
