I am republican, and pro-life. But I have been on government assistance and it was a life saver. If someone truly needs it it is wonderful and I am all for it. It is when it is abused we don't like it. And the government hands it out like it is candy on halloween. It needs to be harder to get, they need to do better checks on people. I see it TONS where I live, where they are driving brand new cars, nice new clothes and iphones yet, they are using food stamps... It isn't right.

It was free and my grandma put me on her plan. She didn't like that she had the baby and I was at school with NO way for her to get ahold of me. I had a phone that a friend gave me and when I took it in to get hooked up, the guy said I could get the iPhone. Same price monthly, so why not? I never assume anything about anyone because I don't know...

my parents gave me a honda odyssey mini van. BUT im not on assitance, but if i needed it, id hate to judged for those.. because i didnt buy any of them.

Yeah I understand that that can happen, but not always. Chances are someone didn't gift someone a car, new clothes, a new phone and take them to get their weave and nails done.

How do you know the difference though?

I have a newer car, not brand new, but again, my grandma got the loan. I do have to pay payments but she would never let me drive around in a car that was junk with the kids.
Clothes? That's pretty hard to tell what is new. I buy things with tags still on them at second hand stores for just a couple of bucks.
I've even had my hair and nails paid for by family. Not because I ask either. I would never do that.

in cincinnati it was bad... i saw it all the time. from some "friends" as well.. and family members..
i was just lucky with my family adn the timing of things.. my parents moved out of the country..couldnt take the van, i was pregnant with my 3rd... they gifted me the van. which is so awesome and im SOOO thankful for.

Exactly.
Some families are great. I have a great family and would be lost without them. Of course they don't mind helping (with what they can b/c they're not rich by any means) because they see me actually trying. My SIL paid 75 bucks the last time she was in town for my mani/pedi. She thought I deserved a treat...I was like okay...lol I'm very grateful for things like that.

You do realize they are both people and politicians who are republican and pro choice I hope. Because I am a pro choice republican, my governer and senators are also

A little late but...We had a political ad here with this woman and she said "I am a pro life woman who was raped and was offered plan b and declined. However Todd Akin would make it illegal for a woman to get plan b and I don't think a woman should ever be denied, and for that reason I am voting Claire McCaskill.

Umm isn't she pro choice then?

Not necessarily. One can be pro-life for them selves, but not for others.

I must disagree there.

Pro-choice means that choice should be legal, pro-life means abortions should be illegal.

You can be pro-choice and choose to not have an abortion for yourself.
