We never got finger printed for it. I think some of the information might vary state to state in the US. My kids' BC have mine and my husband's names, the delivering doctor, hospital where they were born and all that. But no finger prints.
And we weren't married yet when our son was born sonar both had to sign the BC. When we had our daughter we were married and unjust filled it all out and signed it. My husban didn't have to sign anything. But I did have to fill his name in as her father.

The legal term is guardian, but from where I'm from we call them god parents. I don't know anyone who has "god parents" that aren't legally responsible for them if their parents die, but yes I think it has to be in the will still.

I never even thought about the possibility of having to prove she's mine, lol. Like I've been on welfare and I only had to provide both our BCs and SINs, and we don't even have the same last name lol

My ex is not on the BC either, yet through DNA he pays cs. My husband cannot adopt my daughter unless her biodad signs over all rights. If it is court documented in any way, shape or form, that he is her bio dad he is granted automatic custody regardless of wills. Btw: a will is just what you want to happen. They can be contested at every turn. Mine states that my daughter must be solely raised by him (not his mother). His mother can take him to court for 100% custody. Then again, I don't know the grandparents situation, but if he says no thanks, your daughter will go into CPS in most states until a grandparent says OK. Your bf will not have any rights unless he fights it out. Pretty much the same operation in any of the 50 states.

when i applied for medical the state made me go after him for child support because i knew who the dad is. SOoo the child support services sent him papers to take a paternity test he threw them away. so they had no reason to believe hes not her dad so they take child support from him. he always got papers saying to go to court to get visitation rights which he never did. so i get child support but he really has no rights. i just dont want him to be able to ever.

Yeah see thats what im scared of. IF anything were to happen to me i dont want him to be in the picture at all. So should i ask her bio dad to sign his rights over completely. He didnt have any really, as in he doesnt see her and i cant get in trouble for that, that i know of

You can definitely ask him, but I don't believe the courts will allow that to happen unless your spouse is willing to adopt him legally.

Yeah that is definitly super weird. So someone could steal your child and what if they took the papers? How do you prove thats your kid?

No he never has. From Arizona i moved to Montana to live with my cousin. I met BD and got prego I moved back to Arizona cuz i missed my family and found out two weeks later that i was pregnant. BD was supposed to moved to Arizona Once he got out of pre release. But i found out he was cheating on me with my one of my friends i worked with there when i was 4 months prego. I left him and havent been back to Montana. He kept going back to prison in and out. and now hes out. But he says he wont move to Georgia (where i now live) Because theres to many black people. I dont believe he gives one smurf about her. Hes very selfish and he thinks i should move to Montana so he can be in her life- (btw im pregnant with my second and happily with the dad who also raises my daughter as his own) Honestly i dont think he would fight for her but im just worried what if he would you never know. my bf would adopt her in a heart beat im sure.

Then go to court and apply for his rights to be severed. He will still be required to pay support until the bf adopts her once you 2 or you get married to someone else.

This is something that has crossed my mind lately as well, I get soo worried   I would not want my baby to be with his dad ;(
