Black Friday shopping while pregnant
posted 8th Nov
What is your opinion on pregnant women, especially in their 3rd trimester. Going Black Friday shopping?
Personally I would not risk it, but that's just me. I would go next day while sales are going on! But not the early morning midnight madness and all!

I worked retail on black friday while pregnant if that counts lol. This will be the first year i'm not working that day, so i can actually go. I doubt i will though. People suck in this town, and i don't want to deal with them. haha

I was planning to last year (and I would have been 39 weeks!) lol I figured it would either put me in labor, or people would get the hell out of my way! haha

I went out at 10 pm last year on thanksgiving we got home the next day around 11 am. I was fine and had a lot of fun. I ended up going into labor at 2pm, I had my daughter at 8:53 pm.

Guess it all depends on your town too. I always go and nobody pays attention to anything, just running with carts slamming into stuff. I'm literally getting. C section 3 days after!

Hell i am to fat and hurt to even try it!! I wouldnt do it. People are ruthless and mean. They will knock you down pregnant or not. Then again maybe you can fall to the ground pretend your in labor while your sidekick takes off and gets what they want.

I went while in my third trimester. Maybe its just me or possibly because I'm not stupid and I don't put my self in a dangerous black Friday situation but I have never had a horrifying experience. People are rude and crowds are huge which is to be expected but Black Friday is over-hyped. Pregnant or not I wouldn't stand in line pushing myself to the front or even be in the front of the line, fight over a toy or get into an altercation with someone. Its only dangerous if you make it out to be.

I went to wall arts midnight Black Friday when I was 37 wk pregnant. My husband came as back up. I did push a cart for extra measure, but didn't run into any trouble. At least where I was at. There was a riot over some cheap towels and game systems,in other sections.

A lot of stores around here have it pretty organized, they only let so many people in the door at a time and patrol the lines frequently. But I will never go shopping on black friday again because it wasn't worth it to me.

I went last year and fell in Walmart thanks to a hanger on the floor. After spending the day in the hospital getting checked out and thankfully nothing more than sore neck and shoulders I ended up missing all my shopping time but got a nice payment from Walmart and they paid my hospital bills.

Lol, they paid you for slipping on a hanger on black friday?

Im not sure if they are required, but I think they are responsible for any injuries on their property that was caused by their negligence ( allowing a hanger to be left on the ground). A manager was called when I fell and they had me fill out an accident report and gave me a number to call if I went to the hospital. I called that number and they handled everything and asked if a check for a certain amount is sufficient. I agreed and received a check. I'm guessing that is better for them than me taking them to court, which is what they were probably afraid I would do. Not to mention they likely saw me fall on their security tapes and knew I wasn't trying to pull something.
