Legalizing Weed?

supposedly Colorado and Washington is making weed legal as of other states people are able to use it for Medical use. I am not pregnant but if i was i wouldn't smoke, drink, any of those things that made harm my baby. But is weed really that bad? I feel alcohol maybe worst than weed(in my opinion). Is it really the gateway drug to other drugs? Would you want you kids smoking it? I don't feel it's all that bad but I would want my children grown and finish with school before they end up smoking it which I can only hope they would follow and listen to me when it comes to experimenting with those things(being a teen you kind of think you inviciable i know i thought that lol). Honestly i would rather them smoke weed than harder drugs and pills. What are your thoughts on this? ALL OPINIONS ARE WELCOME

I've never smoked weed. But I stress and have high anxiety. Sometimes I wonder if it could calm my ass down. Colorado is my home. But I'm just curious is you can just buy it like you buy beer.

Cigarettes are WAY more harmful than marijuana, proven by studies. And personally, I've smoked on at least five occasions over the last like... 10 years, and I've NEVER gotten "addicted" to pot or tried other drugs. Marijuana is completely different than cocaine and meth and heroin. Totally different. People seem to think "drugs are drugs", when really marijuana is a smurfing plant. That's all.

Sorry I'm against it for recreational use I use to smoke it through high school and tried other drugs as well in a way it's a gateway drug because you want to try different ways to get high but I also think it could be infect those who are ill or suffering but if you meet my friends brothers you can see the long term effects of constant recreational pot use

There have been no birth defects linked specifically to THC exposure in utero. I have used pot during two of my pregnancies to help with nausea. Not daily and not smoking it, because the smoke is really the problem, limits oxygen getting to the baby.
I do not believe it is a "gate way" drug. I think that if someone is willing to try dangerous hard drugs, they would have tried them without pot first. Pot just happens to be very easy to access.

I dont believe cigarettes, alcohol, beer, drugs, weed, and certain prescription drugs should even be legal. They serve no purpose whatsoever.

Would I want my kids smoking mj? Nope. Drugs are stupid. It's just a bad idea. Heck, I don't even take prescription drugs because of the way they make me function...

Oh sometimes people lace pot with things like pcp or LCD cocaine that can defiantly lead to addictions

I think weed is a lot less bad than alcohol. I think it should be legal.

It's stupid that they passed it in WA. I like the idea but the law they passed makes pot super expensive because it ends up with like a 80% tax on it. And the law they passed goes along with DUI laws. And it's looking like if you have smoked in the last 48 hours the THC can still be in your blood and even if you're not high then you can get a DUI.
Oregon did not pass their bill because they saw all the BS attached to it. Tons of people regret passing the pot law just like how they passed they law selling booze in Grocery stores with out reading the fine print. Now they're bitching about both.

But I do think that pot should be legalized and taxed (at a much lower tax) through out the country.

Smoking anything is bad for you. As far as it being a gateway drug, that's up for discussion since people have different views on it. I don't believe it to be.

it's legal here, and no you can't buy it just like you buy beer. You have to have a medical card, and there are shops that specifically cater to marijuana. And OP, i don't think it's that bad. I don't do it myself, but my family does, and from that i don't think it's the "gateway" to other drugs. My family doesn't do anything else.

gateway drug: by the looks of DH's family, yes.
Would I want my kids doing it: That is a no brainer. Having a husband who works in law enforcement (and even if he didnt) I would send them to drug rehab and cut them off financially til they straightened up. If they had a car in my name, car would be gone. Bedroom door would come down. Curfew would be 8pm.

This. All of it. I have many friends who have used it for YEARS every day all day, and honestly, you can tell.
