Your Opinion???

My SO and I have been together almost 2 years. He has two other children. His ex wife cheated and left him for another man. SO signed temporary custody to his son 2 years ago after his mom begged him to. He only agreed because he is on papers and if something happens he will go to prison for 10 years. I keep his son 5 days a week while his mom is at work. He doesn't listen to me and gets into a ton of trouble. He used to be in daycare everyday but he got kicked out. It puts a lot of extra stress on me and my family tells me its not my responsibility to watch him being that she begged to get custody and he can still go to daycare at a different place. She has the money to put him in but doesn't want to. she wants to save her money. We also have him every weekend if that matters and SO works 6 12's so its just me with the kids. Should I tell her I can't watch him bc its effecting my school and my grades and therefore effecting my future or should I just keep watching him? She has other people to watch him but she would rather bring him here because it's free.

Put your foot down. She wanted custody, she should have known that she was taking on financial responsibility too. It's nice if you can have family watch your children for free, but if it's affecting your life negatively, then you don't need to do it.

I would try to have him only 2 times a week, so your helping, and can also take care of your own stuff. Lots of daycares have part time rates, so that if you picked him up after lunch. She could save some money still, and you could help.

She needs no explanation just tell her you are unable to look after him anymore if she demands an explanation then say something came up

Oh I forgot to add her husband works 3 and gets home at 3 or 4 but she doesn't want to have to wake him up to watch him.

I agree with your family. His child is not your responsibility and he should definitely not be allowing you to watch him knowing that his ex is just trying to save some money. He's obviously driving you nuts.

and she has nothing else to do with her other grandkids only one other one her daughters little girl she has only seen my son 6 months about 4 times and she drops and picks up everyday.
