Formula Question!!

My daughter is 11 months old...her bd is 12/5...is it too early to switch her over to whole milk. She is already 25 lbs and very healthy. What are everyones thoughts on this?? When did you switch over to whole milk??

They say to wait until a year old.

I waited with both of my kids.

In a week or 2 it should be perfectly fine to start mixing some milk into her formula. Start small, maybe 1/4 then work your way up from there.

Yeah, I did this too. It eased him into better, I don't think he liked it at all. lol.

ok so instead of using water you mixed the formula with the milk?

Nope, you make the formula like you normally would. Say they drink 5oz of formula. Make 4oz of formula, then add 1oz of milk.

I did the normal, water and formula but, would add milk in too at the very beginning, until I was adding ONLY milk and then eventually did smaller amounts of formula until it was pure milk.

Thanks that makes total sense! Im going to start that next week   Just didnt want to buy formula and waste it because I was switching her over.

I started switching over about a month early with my daughter. I did like the other mommas said and did it gradually. By the time she was 1 she was completely on whole milk.

Ok i tried mixing in an ounce of whole milk in her bottles and everyting was going good until her ear and cheek got blood red after 24 hrs of the change. She is on similac sensitive...could whole milk be too harsh for her?? HELP  

Nope.

DD is 9 months and gets 125ml a day of whole milk already.

DS was on sensitive as well. He's on Lactaid now. Try that.
