Mirena and Illinois Healthy Women medical card question

Hi. I have the Mirena IUD and have for 3 years. I have a dr. appt. next week to have it removed so that we can TTC, I was wondering if ne body knew if my Illinois Healthy Women Medical Card will pay for removal? I know they would for placement and any other type of alternative bc,

Looks like they pay for the placement but not the removal. I would call them tomorrow to be sure, but I wouldn't think they would because the service seems to only be for GETTING ON birth control, not getting off it.

the way it seems to me after reading the wesite is that you would have to have it removed at a routine visit.....like your annual pap smear. Or you could schedule to have your bc switched due to side effects, have it removed and then just dont take the other bc.....if its not a routine bc related visit , it states that there is a copay for office visit and services. but nothing specific to iud removal
