Yeah
Knowing a guy wrote that changes the tune a little, but for the most part I still agree.

My problem with that post is that I'm a SAHM with my 3 boys. I'm not on welfare or any other state funded help. Our bills are paid. The kids have new clothes and new toys. It seems like your friend is assuming that I'm somehow contributing to the people who decide to live off of the system. Every mom is allowed to decide what is best for their child and sometimes daycare isn't the right choice.

Back when there was only 1 kid, I was in school and working 2 jobs on top of being a mom. My son was in daycare. Now if i did that, we'd have to refinance our house just to pay for the daycare.

right... I think I know more people who aren't SAHM that are on assistance actually... when I used to work at Taco Bell there were some people there that somehow qualified for FS & smurf. No kids or anything, totally capable of working

Oh that's no doubt. It's not impossible to find a job. But..most job openings are for maybe..2 or 3 positions and there is always 30+ applying for it. DH is a felon, until we get it expunged..So lucky he has a job that didn't do a background check, but..He gets 20 hours a week. I'm 8 months pregnant and had to quit my job because of the kind of work I was doing and...No one here is going to hire a woman who is visibly pregnant. Although, I do plan on looking for work shortly after the baby is here.

Impossible, no. Difficult and a lot of waiting? Yes.

Back when we had ds1 in daycare, it was about $180 per week (3 days per week, but full day 9am to 6pm). There was a 10% discount per sibling. It would have been $504 per week just for the daycare.

I agree with a good portion of this.

By the way someone told me on FB last night. Don't worry sweetie, I will continue to pay for your birth control pills will my tax money.

I am not on welfare. My benefits package through my company alone is worth more than he makes a year. So unbelievably embarrassing for him.

i agree with her..
but the only SAHM i know DO NOT live off the government at all, they are SAHM because the can be.

I work, so does SO, i could not work and get food stamps and get WIC or something, but I dont. I wish i could stay at home and live off the government but I have too much damn pride

Cool for her and all, but as an adult woman and Sahm/Wahm, I really would not need someone on facebook to "school me" on how to live my life.
Kinda presumptous to assume a woman who primarily stays home has never done anything. I have already gone to school, held jobs, I hold a real estate license, and have a business and work at home job (not sellling fake candles or tutu's either).

I would just be like "nice sentiment and all, but dont really need your advice"

People should be forced to work. Sure here's a bit of money to get you from day to day but you've got to enroll in so many hours voluntary work, back to work programs, or tertiary education. However the rest of your welfare will be given in the form of daycare subsidies, educational subsidies, training incentives, and paid maternity leave.

I'm not a SAHM, both my DH and I work full time but I honestly have major issues with what she said. The way I feel about it is if a woman wants to stay at home and look after her children and her Husband or Partner is out working and supporting the whole family and they are not claiming any type of money from the Goverment how is that any of my business? If my DH and I decided tomorrow that it would be more beneficial for our family if I stopped working and stayed at home and he was going to be the sole financial provider and we weren't claiming any extra assistance/benefits from the Goverment then that is our business, who does she think she is?
