Half the time. He has a severe delay but I know his "lingo" lol.

Inbetween sometimes and most of the time.
Gav has a speech delay and sometimes it sounds like he's babbling, but he's actually talking.. He just says some words differently..but he's getting a lot better

Barely. But he only just started saying a few words with the help of speech therapy.

I said most of the time, because sometimes she mumbles or tries to say a word and it isn't quite right so I don't get what she means.

How was his delay diagnosed? I can barely understand my friends 3 year old. Even his pediatrician thinks he needs speech therapy but my friend doesn't think he needs it.

He got 3 evaluations, one being speech(the other 2 were to rule out things like ADD and autism). No one but me can understand my DS, not even his father. His speech is at an 18 month's level. His pedi gave me the number to an agency to have him evaluated.

I'd say 90% of the time. Usually when I don't understand her is when she's playing independently and 'talking' to her toys. But I figure it's toy language lol

She has a moderate stutter and a lisp but I'm used to it.

i answered most of the time and he has been in speech therapy for the last year.. we also got the contact info from our pedi for what to do about his speech delay.. good luck!
