Not that this is how I feel, but I am sure there are a ton of you out there who are pretty upset.

I don't want to argue about who should have won, who was the better man, etc etc

But...

I do want to throw out there why
I DO NOT VOTE

I don't participate in politics. I was born in the US. I didn't choose to be here, and i know we have it better than many countries However, a lot of other countries offer more of what I view as ideal. I am in no way patriotic. Neither do I hate America. Our country has been pretty good to me.
Here's my issue:
Politicians are actors, pure and simple. They pay others to write "their" speeches, to dress them in a more appealing manner, and to coach them on how to appear kinder, stronger, wiser; better. What we see on tv is a gross misrepresentation of who we are actually going to elect. It's all lies, so I don't participate. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, they will all make whatever decisions they feel like regardless of their party affiliation. The parties no longer have a clear distinction, and the candidates are mere puppets for the bureaucracy that is truly in charge, not for the people. Whoever has or offers the most money is the one with power.

If you do or do not vote, what are your reasons?

I am a citizen of the USA but not a resident (never have been) so I could not vote in this election, however I follow the politics closely as it directly affects the UK.
I will be voting in all elections here, because women died for my right to vote and I respect that too much to throw it away.

I feel that the the things we once fought for were noble in nature. But I feel that times have changed pretty much the world over and there is too much scandal for such nobilities to exist.

I do however agree with you on what you said about the leaders. Over here, all of the 3 main party leaders came from rich families and were educated at the top private schools, paid their way into the top universities and have been groomed to lead the parties. I do not get how these white rich men can be trusted to make decisions for the poor. At least Obama didn't come from money and has faced some adversity in his life. You think America has it bad, you should look at our politicians.

Agree, 100%

They "differ" on social issues so the drooling masses think they are getting a choice. In the meantime, they spend us into oblivion to pay off their corporate buddies. It won't matter when the economy collapses because they'll have already taken their chunk of the pie.

A nation of sheep begets a government of wolves.

This year the differences between the 2 were stark. We have different futures based on the re-election of Obama over Romney. I am personally impacted as are my tenants.
