Meh, they have their opinions and we have ours. If someone doesn't want to buy them gifts they can just not go to the party or not bring anything. No big deal. I've known many people to throw their own or have their mom throw it... but to me if your mom or relative is throwing it's almost like you are for yourself because you're most likely to be really involved and control who comes and control what goes on your wish list. Why have registries if you're not asking for gifts?

So people don't buy the baby stuff you don't need. They don't need to buy anything but why buy something you obviously won't use on the baby? I think that is why registries are there.

Lol no! I'm saying even if someone else is throwing your party you still make registries. So, no matter WHO throws your party you are asking for gifts. I know what registries are for.

i don't really care if they bring gifts,that is why my friend suggested i do a diaper shower so if they wanted to bring something they could get a simple pack of diapers. my mom was going to do it but she won't be able to now so i see no problem doing it myself. so far no one in my family thinks it is horrible that i want to do it myself,and yes it is my 4th baby but they are all very excited about a new baby in the family.

Hey! Me and you have the same due date. Well i'm having both. The women at work are giving me a diaper shower, and my mother are giving me a baby shower. Just put diaper shower on the invitations.
