sick husband?

posted 7th Nov
So this all started about a month ago. My DH is in the military and they had a PT day where they did "semper fit" which is just a really intense PT session. The ground they did it on was pebbly and he got his knees chewed to smurf. They became infected (not bad but enough that you knew the cuts were infected) and shortly after that his lymph node by his groin became enlarged. The doc explained that it was from the leg infection bc that is what that particular lymph node alerts. Just in case though they gave him an STD screen and that was clear...fast forwarding to a couple weeks after he gets this HORRIBLE sore throat. We thought it was Strep because he was so miserable. He had flu like symptoms and the raw throat. He waited like 5 days to see if it would go away and it didn't so he finally got put on anti biotics. The illness went away almost IMMEDIATELY once he started that. However, now he's got something going on with his stomach?!
He says it feels like horrible gas pains. He's not having diarrhea or vomiting but he feels like it could happen at any moment and his stomach is in knots. This has been going on for three days. he's still on the anti biotics...

could all these different things just be coincidence or do you think something more serious is going on? He's so stubborn I can never get him to get blood drawn to find out but I'm starting to worry the man hasn't had so much as a head cold in two years. He even turned down sex last night bc of his stomach  ache

Sounds like gallbladder symptoms to me.

My ex just got out of the hospital Friday from having his gallbladder removed. He had a gallstone that they said was probably in there for YEARS (Because the symptoms hide so well) and the reason they found it was because the stone started blocking a duct and literally his gallbladder stopped working.

I would seriously have him go in for a CT scan or an u/s and see if they find anything.

He probably just keeps getting sick because when you have an infection your immune system is weakened so you are more prone. The infection in his knees just left him vulnerable to illness, possibly.

I'm just gonna have to kick his ass into the doctors for blood work and a scan because he's falling apart.

Yeah and I agree with the other poster. The illness probably happened because of his weakened immune system.

So just tell DH that you've got this baby due in March and you refuse to be a single parent because he refuses to go to the doctor and save his life.

OP, if it is gallbladder one sign is a dull but very painful ache right underneath his right rib cage. Also, being in pain after having food with a lot of fat could let you know as well.

That could be a gluten intolerance also?

But my ex got to the point where literally ALL food caused him pain.

That's what he had mentioned too... I told him to stay off google lol. Can a glucose allergy appear so suddenly like that?

Well you said he's never complained of stomach issues before so I doubt that's what it is. My ex thought he was becoming lactose intolerant. Turns out he wasn't.

That's what I was thinking. I doubt he'd just go from being perfectly fine to allergic to gluten over night so Idk what's going on with him.

That's what we think it is... I've been googling about it and apparently it's common. Yes, he never misses work. The man went to work and PT'd and acted like everything was normal with a fractured ankle, no cast. He's insane.
