mirena worth getting ??

im book in to get the mirena iud on the 26th of this month. has anyone fell pregnant using this? also get you get bad symptoms ? is it painful? just want no a bit of info before getting it.  

From what I have heard from pple who "were" on it, said that it was awful! They said the pain was bad, that they wanted to just peel their vagina off and told me "Ash, so glad you didn't get Mirena and not have to go through this." If you do get it I hope its okay for you. I know 3 pple who got it removed and 1 who has no problems from it.

Excruciating back pain. Like.. unable to get out of bed or hold my daughter. depression, hallucinations.. but I don't take BC well. Also when I got it inserted I started losing consciousness. They told me that's normal. It hurt worse than birth did and I had a med-free birth.

Got it out after only 3 months and three months after I got cold chills and insomnia every time I had a period.

My Mirena was inserted over 3 1/2 years ago. It felt like a minor pinch. Uncomfortable, but largely painless. Bled off and on for a couple of days, nothing bad. I've had maybe 8 periods since. I breastfed for about 14 months of that. It's gone now.

I haven't had any problems with it that we can trace back to it, and I surely haven't gotten pregnant on it.

I suffer from chronic headaches, but it is believed they are unrelated.

Much better. I had it removed last december. It was only those three months that I had uncontrollable chills from the hormones getting back to normal.

I think so. I have it and haven't had any issues at all. I don't bleed (except spotting once in a while but not even enough to need a pad), I am a little emotional but nothing too bad and I haven't gained any weight like a lot of people say. I personally think it's your own fault if you gain weight on bc or not. I'm actually still losing weight. It did hurt getting put in but I've never been good with anything to do with down there. I bled for maybe 2 days after and that was it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone but every one is different.

We're TTC.

But between then and May, we were using spermicide/condoms/fertility tracking.

I can't use hormones and I'm allergic to copper. So I didn't have many options. After baby#2 we'll be done.

I have the copper IUD which has no hormones. Over here it's called the multiload in the US its called the paragard. I freaken love it!! I couldn't be awake for it to be put in though because my cervix is a bitch, I can barely get a pap smear without crying in pain so she opted for putting me to sleep because it was the birth control I really wanted.

That's what I was going to get at first. I heard some bad things about it though. When I went to my post partum check up my doctor prescribed me to birth control, the "mini pill" it's for women who are breastfeeding. I was worried about the mirena because I have heard stories about it falling out and you get pregnant and it attaching to your uterus and you have to have surgery, scarrry stuff. I figured it I was on the pill and used other methods of protection as well than I won't get pregnant.
