What are these weird things?

posted 6th Nov
Sorry in advance if this is tmi.
About 3 days ago i lost parts of my mucous plug, in chunks and I didn't think much of it. Only because I wasn't in any pain just discomfort. I called my nurse she assured me that things would be fine as long as I didn't have sexual intercourse. The days following I had mild contractions once again nothing to cause great pain I timed them and they were like (3 min, 1 min, 3 min, 6min,8 min) very random.well today my husband and I were at home depot today and as we were walking I had a "leak" not a gush but not a trickle of fluid come out my vagina. It was enough to soak my undies and rundown my thigh. I ran to the restroom and it was watery but sticky white/ grayish chunks in it.What the heck was it? The rest of my mucous plug? Or just crazy discharge?

Could be a bit of a water leak since you're getting close to being due.
I would get it checked out.

if it ran down you leg your water likely broke and additional mucous came out with it. I'd go in and get checked

Yea your water can break and the contractions can not be intense. My water partialy broke at the Drs office when I had an appointment for DS (thought they might need to induce) and it was kinda like that. The Dr had to finsih breaking my water at lunch time when he met me at the hospital and then put me on pitocin to get the contractions going harder. Just keep an eye on it tonight and if things start to get more intense in the contraction catagory head in and tell them about your water (pretty sure that is what it is) and they will get you cheked out. You may need to get put on pitocin to get the contractions really going this time around who knows. Each pregnancy and L&D is different for each baby. Best of luck keep us posted!!!

Thanks for this I'm not usually one to run to l&d at the drop of a spoon but if anything changes I will. I'm almost certain this labor will be harder, everything has been this pregnancy vie had glucose, iron, and bp problems. Oh the joys.

sometimes you don't contract for 24 + hours. You should be seen ASAP. waiting would not be welcome to your doctor at all.

When my waters broke, it was from up the top so it was only trickling out and I'd find it when I wiped. They broke them properly and then it would gush out when I had contractions.

Not trying to be snotty but she has an appointment at 8am. And if her water only partially broke and she isnt having regular contractions or not even majorly intense ones she should be fine to wait till 8am. I went into labor with irregular contractions and my water broke at the Drs office. They also tell you you dont need to rush in if your water breaks just dont soak in a tub and monitor things. And since her appointment is at 8 she should be fine.

well if it happened during the day then it would be coming up on 24 hours. Her doctor is not going to like that she waited to come in with a suspected rupture. He will likely start antibiotics for a rupture over 18 hours. If she goes in now and has the apparent high leak confirmed and has an amniotomy performed she might avoid that and possibly pitocin. If she waits I bet money he starts pitocin and antibiotics right away and I would bet she would like to avoid that.
