Child support in North Carolina

I'm only 22 weeks but my BD left me last week and I was just wondering about child support?

I asked him to help out and buy the car seat plus diapers and stuff and he said I can't force him to buy anything..

My mom doesn't want him in the baby's life at all. And he says that of the baby doesn't have his last name he won't sign the birth certificate.

But if he doesn't sign will he still be liable for child support?

they will probably give him a paternity test and then yes he will be liable for child support.

Yes...he would still have to pay child support. You'd probably have to have a paternity test done since he won't be on the birth certificate. But as long as he's proven to be the father, he'll still have to pay child support.  

no problem! I hope everything works out for you! make sure he takes care of that baby! he may try to talk you out of court ordered support but dont go for it. It's the only way they will keep track of every thing he owes and make sure you get it one way or another!!! Good Luck

Yeah I haven't mentioned anything to him about it because I know he will try to manipulate me and attempt to get me to change my mind. For right now I'm just being civil with him about things. But when I have the baby I will be taking him out for child support and I will not back down!!

YES girl! Stand your ground. My sons father is like 6000 behind right now and pays nothing. I plan to go and file for a order of contempt! last time h was orderd to pay 2000 that day, and magicly came up with it!!! smh,,, MEN

You dont have to give the baby his last name to make him pay. My SO's son has his last name, and his ex is supposed to give him child support but he doesnt enforce it. But she would have to if he enforced it.

He will also be entitled to custody
