DS's Parent-Teacher Conference........

went GREAT!!!! A little back story , DS was just diagnosed with autism and he is in a special needs preschool class. Anyway, his teacher said he is such a delight in class, follows directions well, interacts with his class mates, does amazing at circle time (where they sing, dance, play with the ipad). One thing she mentioned was well, DS loves to eat lol. The thing is, he will not use utensils, so when they hand out breakfast trays in the morning, she asks the class who wants one first and apparently, DS is always the one who wants his first, and while she is passing out the other trays (there is only like 6 in the class), DS attacks his food before anyone can get over there to remind him to use his utensils lol. They are requesting OT to help him use utensils, also to help him properly hold a crayon, and help with biting pieces of food off because sometimes he just like, sucks on food when he needs to bite it off. anyway, i am soooooo happy he is doing so well in school!!

That's great! The utensils probably just get in his way, haha. Poor kid just wants to eat!
