posted 6th Nov
Around 3:00 P.M. I started feeling some good contraction that were about three or four minutes apart, I called my husband to let him know it might be time (he was at our 11yr old's football game). So after scrambling around the house cleaning, doing the dishes and cleaning out our fish tank I definitely knew it was time to go, I had sitters arranged for all the kids, so after dropping them all off and high tailing it out of town (it a forty five minute drive to the nearest hospital) I really started having strong contractions, two at a time! so my husband sped up to 85mph and tuned his flashers on, we pulled up right behind the sheriff and he tuned his lights on but did not pull in behind us, instead he drove to the hospital and waved us along, he must have saw me going nuts and put two and two together! my husband dropped me off at the door and ran in as he parked, I was at the elevators when he came running in, I was doing alright, trying to stay calm, made it to triage and the nurse asked me all kinds of dumb questions, then about fifteen minutes later checked me, I was at a 6 1/2 and my water was bulging, so the took me down the hall to L&D where I finally saw the Dr on call, he asked if I would like pain management, I told him if I have time yes please, I was shaking uncontrollably, so maybe five minutes later I was getting+
a n epidural, contractions coming frequently and I felt tons of pressure, I told the nurse I felt the need to push, so she had me lay down and checked me, I felt my water break, she ran out of the room to get the Dr (he was in the next room) he came in and told me I could push when ever I felt the need, so I did, and there was his head, then a little push and the shoulders, then the rest just came out, he was beautiful! 7lbs 6ozs, 20 1/4 inches long, gorgeous little man! a few minutes later the nurse asked if I thought I could walk, I could move my legs, so I figured I would try it, I stood up and took a few wobbly steps, I could not believe it! I had and epidural even but it must not have been a full one,( with my others I could not lift my legs for hours) so they let me walk down the hall to my recovery room! so all in all it was good, FAST! but good!
