Mine will be 2.5 too. 20 months now. She can't quite comprehend it yet. Maybe as the time gets closer I'll get a baby doll, and rock it, pretend to feed, pretend to change a diaper etc.... maybe the more she is used to that routine, she'll be more comfortable with it?

My SD was much more interested in my belly when I was pregnant with my son.. I feel like I should be doing something? I don't know, my husband just keeps reminding me that I am about to turn his world upside Down.
How did your daughter react once the baby was actually here then?

DD is two. She'll be about two and a half when he gets here. She doesn't care at all. She just gets pissed off because I wont let her sit in the bouncer.

Then again... I wonder if using a doll, would make her think the new baby is a doll... hmmmmm

I just told my son there was a baby in my baby as well as telling him the baby’s name. The name gave it a more personal feel and he could grasp it better. I have also been letting him feel the baby kick and my son has been getting really excited about feeling the baby move.

I also let him pick out an outfit and present for the baby as well as letting him help me set up/ organize the baby things/room and he knows the baby will be here in March so he will tell the baby all the time that he will see him in March.

DS had a big brother book that we would read every night. He liked to kiss my tummy and say night night to his sister every night. We used her name the entire pregnancy. He was 2 years 5 months when she was born. When my mom brought him to the hospital he came in and saw her in tr bassinet and DH asked him,"do you know who that is?" And he yelled "Jordyn!" He was so excited it was really cute. This time DD will be 23 months when her sister is born not sure she will really get it.

We got my SD a doll so she had her baby to take care of too.. That didn't make a difference at all. She just reverted to wanting to be a baby, but she was 27 months old when my son was born.

Oh gosh I didn't even think about him wanting to play in baby things.. What baby things we have left, we still have in storage, other than the stroller.. I don't know how he will feel about being booted out of his stroller though and moved onto a Buggyboard

Everyone ended up buying a baby doll for her because they thought the same thing lol. That idea lasted like a minute haha. She wasn't the best big sister when the baby came. She acted out like crazy and called her sister disgusting. I was really upset and felt guilty. After 2 months of getting adjusted and getting a routine down, things went a lot smoother. She LOVES being a big sister and helps me out so much!

I may be getting ahead of myself.. We can't feel baby kicking yet so that is one thing I will be able to share.. As well as decorating the babies rooms. Didn't even think about that, although we just bought a house and are moving in a month so we will be decorating every room.. Not sure if it will even make sense to him in that case. But Whenever we tell him babies name he says "no x"

She's allowed to play with the toys. She just needs to learn to share. We're just switching strollers from her stroller to a sit and stand. I'm not too concerned about how she'll react to the the baby as long as she doesn't act up because of him. If she ignores him, I'm ok with it. It's what my little brother did to my baby sister. He was about to turn 2 when she was born. Now they are 3 and 5 and best friends!

I found a Sesame Street movie called The Three Bears and a New Baby. It really explained a lot. I showed the kids all the baby stuff and explained how baby would eat etc.
