Do your kids have bunk beds?

posted 6th Nov
My 2 girls are 4 and 2 years old. Right now they sleep together like this because its what they wanted.

Well the 3rd bedroom in our house is a play room because of all the massive toys we have. but because eli is going to be 1 in a couple months, im thinking its time i get him in his own room. So the only way this would work with all the toys and stuff we have, is to get the girls a bunkbed.

im kinda afraid they will play on it thugh and fall off and break a bone or something. also my 4 and 2 year old are developmentally on the same track, my oldest is delayed and im worried maybe its too soon for bunk beds...I was thinking of maybe getting this one, since ther is a full size bottom and they can sleep together on that until one is "stable" enough for the top
bunk.. ( BG wont let me link it, idk its been like that lately I cant even upload pics)

all i know is my baby boy is going ot need his own room really soon, so we need to move him out of our room in the next few months..

anytips from going to a bunk bed would be greatly appreciated.

My girls are 5 and almost 4, they've had a bunkbed for a few months now. I wouldn't have gotten it any sooner though. My almost 4 year old is our accident child so I was skeptic. They're doing good now but honestly, I wouldn't recommend much younger, especially a two year old!

Edit: this is what we have; http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_9990000025777711P

They have a bunkbed but don't use the top bunk. My girls are 4 and 2 as well. We have toys on the top bunk. Lol

-so they both just sleep on the bottom together??
they love to cuddle so they sleep like right next to each other right now anyway..

i think a trundle bed would be much safe for those ages.

My 3 yr old sleeps in my bed and doesn't even like his playroom so i can't see why a one year old really needs their own room anytime soon tbh, especially when the girls are happy sharing as they are. Is he unsettled by being in the same room as you?

Would the girls fit in a smaller bed together, rather than the bigger one they have now or a bunk bed? We call beds different here, but the smallest is a single, then a double, queen, king and superking. It looks like you have 2 singles together? i think you call them twin? Could you get a double for them to share so it would take up less space?

I wouldn't want to loose our playroom tbh, i hate when all those big toys get dragging into every other room and the stuff gets everywhere   I guess it depends how many toys are in it though.

They have toddler bunk beds that are lower to the ground. My daughteer had one & the top bunk was only like 4 feet from the floor

this doesnt even show the right side of the room that has an easle and more "big " toys

i guess i just hate having to be so quiet when he is slepein in our room, but its not like he is a super light sleeper or anything..

and trundle beds are a good idea, i forgot about those!

I have a 2 and 4 year old boys, they just got bunk beds. I made sure to get ones that the ladder is removeable so they wouldnt climb constantly. They are actually doing very well with it!

We have bunk beds n 2 n 4 yr olds n 2 yr old did fall n go splat we separated the beds. They pretty much share one n don't bother w the 2nd twin bed. I say wait a little longer but maybe either smaller bunk bed w steps instead of ladder or trundle.

We have bunk beds. But the top bunk has rails all the way around it. My kids are now 10, 7, 4 and almost 2. It depends on the day on which 1 sleeps on top. The 4 year old has his own bed but always climbs in with 1 of his brothers. The 2 year old climbs up onto the top bunk, it scares me since he's not 2 yet.

And we moved him into his own room when he turned 1, so I understand you wanting yours in his own room!!

I have seen the smaller bunk beds and they look pretty nice, if we didn't already have this 1 I would get the smaller 1.

they can trash it in .2 seconds, its crazy.. when its clean its super cute! lol but i posted this pic on FB to prove how messy they are.. thats why i like play rooms, throw the toys in the room.. shut the door BAM.. lol

plus i just throw all the toys in the toy box, and in the bins in the closets and stuff. i dont even organize, i clean it up in a matter of a minute or two.

My kids dont have bunk beds, but my daughter has a loft bed. She LOVES it, I do too. It give her space for toys and stuff under her bed. I know if we have another baby and they share a room, that child will get their own loft bed too. I think it gives them more of a "its my space" area. My daughters loft bed has different color sheers hanging under it, so its like her own little cave under there.
