ED and TTC

So long story short DH has type 1 diabetes and has issues with erectile dysfunction due to that and meds he has to take.... We are TTC and we are having problems even getting the deed done due to his issues. :-( He feels awful as do I becuase there is nothing I can do to help. He is sometimes even hesitant to even BD becuase he knows it is going to end badly. I think he is ashamed to ask for help and I don't know what else I can do. I know we just started TTC but I feel like this is going to be an even longer road if he won't ask for help. Does anyone have any ideas on how to bring up the idea that he needs help without making the issue and his self esteem even worse??

I think your best bet is to try to get him to open up and talk to you about it. Knowing that you are comfortable about talking about it, will in return make him comfortable about it as well, and then maybe he will understand that help is needed in this situation. My husband was diagnosed with 0 sperm count and at first he didn't want to talk about it because he felt like a failure and felt ashamed, because that's how they feel like a man. Now he's comfortable talking about it, only to me of course and his doctor too, and we are on the road to hopefully becoming pregnant.

Thank you for you input!! I guess I just need to sit down and have a talk with him about it and then go from there... I just didn't want to make him more upset about it then he already is. I guess we can't fix it or get help if we don't address the issue. I wish you luck in the future!!

Exactly, I mean I wouldn't push him if he doesn't want to but be comforting in telling him you are here to talk and there is never any judgement. Hope everything works out for you two! *baby dust!* and thank you!!
