If you would like to work then do it! If you don't trust any daycare provider could you maybe do opposite shifts than your SO?... my SO and I used to do that, he would work days 9-5 and I would work 5:30- 12am. Then we would coordinate our days off.

I struggled with the same thing years ago - my now 6 yo was diagnosed with autism at age 4. But when he turned 2 and my daughter was born, I quit working outside the home. It wasn't enough money so I was able to find a great job that I work at home doing. It's typing up transcripts of focus group conversations and I make decent pay and get to stay home. Could you do something like that? Best of both worlds IMO!

Well, they always seem to have lots of work at mine. You can live anywhere for it. I've never even been to the office, they hired me online. Go to www.focusfwd.com, click Join our team, and then scroll all the way down to "Independent contractors: transcribers." It'll open a link and click "apply here." If you follow all the directions, can type moderately well, they will probably hire you. It says you need experience but I didn't have any and you don't really need any. It's just typing up general conversations usually.

I don't think you need go explain yourself at all. I personally am going to school for free on federal grants while being a stay at home mom. We don't receive any type of other assistance, but if we needed it I would utilize the resources available to us until we no longer needed it. Assistance is there for people who need it and I would rather it be in a situation like yours, where you are using it WHILE trying to better your education and situation. And the SSI shouldn't even be a question. If you were working, you would receive less and have to pay for daycare yada yada yada. I hope my inital post didnt come off rude or anything. I genuinely meant it in a supportive way.

They do the first check in the mail and you can sign up for direct deposit just like any typical job.Don't be sorry! It's a great job, I try to encourage my friends with kids to do it. How it works is you log into your page with them. You select from a drop-down box on calendar each day how much work you are able to do that day. Anywhere from none up to 8 hours. Then they send you an audio file and you usually have 24 hours to type it and return it to them. They send you a check or a deposit twice a month, the 15th and the last day of the month. Good luck! How soon after you got hired did you receive your first paycheck? How much maximum would you be able to earn a month? If you don't know the answers to some of my questions I understand. Lol.

Well that kind of thing really depends. The most I ever made in one month was probably about $2000. But it depends on what your'e available to do, what they send you, etc. They send emails almost daily like, with last-minute files they need done right away and you get paid extra to do them if you can. I usually can't do them at last minute's notice so I rarely do those. I got hired and didn't get work right away so it was probably 3 or 4 weeks before I got my first check, although it's hard to remember since it was years ago. But once you do your first file, you will get paid for it either the 15th or the last day of the month, which ever is next. Like this pay period I have to send in my invoice on Friday and then Wednesday night I'll get my deposit. Then I'll get paid again on the 30th.

No, not at all. It might even say on their Web page like a time frame that they'll get back to you by. I think for me it was a couple days.

This is just a suggestion that I just thought about. But would it be possible to babysit one or two children inside your home? You could still be home with Nessa and Nova but still making some money
