I think I'm one of the only people that researches local/state elections just as much as national ones.

Yeah, I hate to admit that I too vote based on jack smurf when I am not familiar with the person running. Last time I voted there were all kinds of options for these tiny county and city wide positions and I had no idea who any of the people running were. I pretty much just stuck to the party I normally side with and could have accidentally voted for a total smurf for all I know, lol. I try to educate myself on every person running but sometimes there are people I don't have a frigging clue about

Sc doesnt list parties on the ballot, so if you don't know, you just have to guess :|

It did when I voted there last? I wonder when they started doing that? The last time I voted was in Charleston county in, oh... 2010 I guess. I voted purely to try and keep Nikki Haley out of office, lol.

Edit: Okay, that's not the only reason I voted but it had a lot to do with it. It was my last chance to vote as a SC resident.

They didn't when it voted in 2008 hmm.. I'm leaving to vote in 5 mins, I let ya know.

K, I was wrong. They do list party on the ticket but... After like the first page, it's all republicans.   there aren't any dems running for anything.
