Going from 2 kids to 3...

posted 5th Nov
What am I in for?

Be honest, I can handle it

Also, any tips to ease the transition? I'm a little nervous for my son, who is a HUGE mama's boy. I don't want him to be completely traumatized by his baby brother, haha.

my son was big mamas boy too.
he turned two in aug his little sister was born in july.
my oldest and him just love there little sister!
my son is more independent!
he still gets his mama time when he needs it.

but 2 to 3 kids is hard i won't lie but i am not sure the age of your kids but mine are 3 (she will be 4 in january) 2 and 4 months. I have no family or friend help cause me and my SO moved to montana so its just me and the kids all day. so if you can get help from friends and family use it!

I was very stressed out at first! but once i got a scheduled down it got alot easier!

I was more scared going from 1 to 2 kids than from 2 to 3. I was worried how my middle son would be since he was a mommys boy too. my oldest was very excited about his baby sister but he thought she would come out and be able to play already. So he was fine. My middle son did awesome. He just loves his little sister so much. He would always check on her and if she was crying he wanted to make her better. She is 9 months old now and her brother love her and she loves them. It really hasn't been bad at all.

Aw, I'm glad your son adjusted well! When baby is born my oldest will be 5, and my son will be 2.5. My daughter is a huge help, and I have some family nearby, but it's still making me a little nervous. My husband works 70 hours a week, so for the most part it's just me.

I'm in the same boat as you! my oldest son was never a big mamas boy but my 2nd is and now Im having another boy Im hoping it will go smooth.. but he already gets jealous when we talk about the new baby... he has also started talking in baby talk again and has regressed on his potty training (after my mom told him that diapers are for babies)

That sound just like my son. He was such a mellow baby. 1-2 wasn't that bad, but now I'll be completely outnumbered, lol.

I hope this baby is a easy going as my son was.

Honestly? Two to three was a breeze AND my middle daughter is attached at my hip constantly. Mine are 5, almost 4 and 2 months. My oldest transitioned amazingly, she's always been my independent one so it was expected. My middle took a little while to adjust. She was great with her baby sister but was EXTRA clingy and whiny for a few days. It took me a longer time adjusting to having a newborn again than it did having three children/daughters lol It has gotten so much easier now that I am adjusted to the newborn stage again

Haha, I'm pretty used to not getting enough sleep, so that's a plus. I know the first few weeks post baby are rough in the sleep department, but I'm ready for it.

I've been wondering the same thing.. The boys will be 3 & 4 when baby comes but my 2 year old is a total handful now and the oldest is a total mommas boy.

I am going to be adding a 3rd too. My son is almost 9 but my special needs daughter is 6 and very needy of mommy. I am worried about it being too hard on her.

It isn't too bad...I think once you get a routine down and the older ones get that the baby is there to stay and is a part of the crew, you will be great.....I am thinking about having one more.
