What do you use for your toddler?

posted 5th Nov
DS is 2.5 and is still co-sleeping. DH and I have a plush or pillow top mattress. We are hoping to transition DS to his own bed in the next few days, he seems pretty excited lol. But, I don't know what kind of mattress to get him. I wanted to get another plush or pillow top since that is what he is use to, but I found some really good deals on memory foam mattresses.

Do you think the memory foam would be too weird for him and a hard adjustment?

What kind of mattress does your toddler or young child use if they are not in a toddler bed?

If they use a memory foam, do they like it? and was it easy for them to get use to it?

Thanks!

we just have plain mattresses for our boys but we got them from my sister , but I don't know if it would affect a toddler or not but I hear sometimes the memory foam mattresses are hard to get out of.. like after they "form" to your body its hard to move from that position but Idk for sure..

He has a full size pillow top the thing is so damn comfy lol I envy his bed. He went from ours to the full size.

Memory foam would worry me cleaning wise. I'm not sure how easy it is to clean

i got a 3.5 and a 1.5 yr old boys
bought the not so cheap mattress at 280 bucks with the bottom included
its kinda hard for my like but they love it its a full size so im hoping it will last them a good 5yrs

dont over do it if you are not going to buy them something that will last them until they go away from home

plus my kids end up walking to our bed by 5am anyways

We sleep together on a superking, he's 3. One side is cotton filled and the other is wool, when i flip them over he doesn't notice, but then i guess it's not much different. Recently i put a duvet underneath to bed protector to keep us warmer, the bed is obviously a lot squishier and feels different, but he's not really noticed and it's not affected his sleep at all.

I just got him a plain mattress at Wal-mart. But we put some of my memory foam pad that i have on my bed on his bed and he slept 100% better.

Yeah, I kind of feared that with he memory foam. I just want to make sure it's comfy, yet affordable.

Hmm, didn't think about that. I bet memory foam is much harder to keep clean and I have no idea how easily it can be cleaned.

I want a new bed now though! lol

I found some for pretty cheap, $199.99 at sears, but they are out of stock. The others that are around $200 have to be delivered and the charge is $79.99   because we live in BFE lol.

It's only a twin because his room is more rectangular in shape and a full size would take up too much room. But I think it will still last him quite awhile.

I always had a full or queen size growing up, but I know some that grew up with just a twin size. I'm hoping it will last him awhile. Plus his room is kind of narrow and I fear a full size will take up too much room.

I'll probably go with a pillow top, I was just hoping to save a few bucks lol

I was in a twin until I was 18 and moved out! but I had a very small room.. my boys both have twins and unless they get really big like their dad, thats what they will be in since they are all going to share a room

I looked too, definitely does not seem quick! I ended up going to Sears Outlet and got a new plush for $179.99. DS seems to love it, he won't get off it lol

DH is pretty tall, and DS is already really tall for his age. I hope it will last him awhile, I thought about getting a Twin XL but I didn't think it would fit the frame we bought.
