Birthday parties.

How soon before a birthday party do you start planning/buying/inviting? My DD will be 4 in February and I'd like to get an early start but I'm not sure how early is too early..

Im going to start in december / jan and his birthday is in april.

So its not crazy to start this early! lol.



ETA: I just realized my son is going to be 6... holy SmUrf.

I'm planning DS' party already and hes only 5 months....    

Depends if I'm planning something big or just a family and friends get together!
When DD turned 1 and 2 I planned 3 months in advance. I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed for her birthday. She will be 4 in 5 days and we started planing her a little get together about 2 weeks ago. So just depends.

My son will be 6 next month and his party has been planned for a month. I just have to send out invites this week.

Btw, your daughter is gorgeous. What a little princess.

invites could go out 2-4 weeks before party, maybe if you see something you like for the party get it. lol little things here n there wont hurt, i wouldnt wait until last minute to buy all the deco just in case you find something you wish you would have had! i bought all my sons deco from party city online! they have a ton more stuff then in stores and it shipped with in a week or so!

I usually like to send out the invites at least a month in advance so I can make the RSVP date about a week before so I can adjust my plans for the correct number of guests. Especially if I've rented a place like "jump on in" or "the discovery museum". They need official numbers at least a week in advance.
