Tell me what you ladies think? They say she has "medical" issues.. the only thing i see is her being mentally handicap. So they should abort the child for that reason? Then when I commented on this post soemone said wells hes known to have seizures. And I came back with dont many (when i say many i dont mean a lot i mean i bet theres woman out there ) that have them too and give birth?
so please tell me what you think?

Depends on the mental capacity of the woman. The parents say she has the capacity of a 6 year old. If that is the case she probably would not do well with pregnancy let alone giving birth. Obviously the mental capacity of a 6 year old, she cannot really make the decision for herself. However I think the judge has the right to override the parents choice because the woman was in a group home. And said group home needs to be inspected because if one woman got pregnant who knows what else is going on.

does she understand thats shes pregnant? I dont know the whole story. Was she rapped? If she has the mind of a 6 year old then she couldnt of known what sex was or ok'ed it. I dont think they should force the abortion but I dont think she is mentaly stable to have a baby in every sense.

Id say its up to the guardians/ caretakers. If she is mentally handicap she probably is not capable of making that kind of decision. they would risk her being traumatized either way. Why not let the baby live and it may be traumatizing but at least can be a good experience

i doubt she knows shes pregnant.. we havent really had much info on this.. besides saying the judges is trying to force abortion onher and its against the guardians religious views.

what bothers me the most about it is they are saying it medically needed.. they havent proven it and maybe they will but this has been going on for a couple weeks now.. anyways they say its because shes mentally handicap? ive seen mentally challenged people give birth and so on.. they also havent even looked into detail weither this is rape or not because she has the capacity of a 6 year old? why dont they think of these things it hurts me  

This is a tricky one. I mean the fact that she has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old makes me feel like an abortion would be the best option for her. Imagine the mental and emotional impact a pregnancy, never the pain and trauma of delivery, would have on a 6-year-old. She doesn't have the mental capacity to parent, or make an informed decision between adoption or abortion, with her absolute best interest at heart, as her guardian I would opt for abortion. I actually think her parents are being very selfish in wanting her to carry the pregnancy to term and go through the process of delivery and adopting, considering the detriment it could very possibly cause to her delicate psyche.
And if she other health problems as well i just don't see the need to put her through that.

That's so wrong just because she is mentally disabled doesn't mean she has no rights as a human being that baby could be perfectly healthy and go to a nice couple shame on that judge

People with mental handicaps have underdeveloped minds but not bodies. They experience sexual urges like any other adult human being. It is not unusual for child-minded adults to engage in consensual sexual relationships, they just don't always understand the repercussions which is why they end up pregnant.

Ok I don't know what the laws are in America but I work with adults with learning disabilities and live in the UK. First off a woman with the certified mental capacity of a 6 year old would not legally be able to give consent to sexual activity of any kind so this would be a straight out sexual abuse situation and a criminal case, secondly I looked further into the story and it says she lives in a group home but she regularly goes missing for days so no one really knows how she got pregnant I mean WTF? Here someone with the mental age of 6 years old would not be allowed to go freely into the community unless they were with a Support Worker so how that even happened I don't know, here you would be looking at gross negligence and again a criminal case, as for medical decisions adults who have the mental age of a child must have a legal document in place, it's an adults with incapacity and show they cannot make medical decisions for themselves. Now I cannot say for certain what would happen if this right to continue the pregnancy or abortion fight was to go to court over here given that we have such a structure in place it would be near impossible for this situation to occur but in experience although family have a massive part to play in minor things Social Services and Medical Professionals do normally have the final say.

i did forget to add she leaves the "group" home and goes to have sex with these men at a truck stop.. BUT her guardians or the group home people should be wacthing her or am i wrong? gahh i hate this

No, it isn't shame on the judge. There are a lot of things to take into consideration with cases like this.
