Cheap dinner

I have absolutely nothing to make for dinner, except for corn bread, which I'm really in the mood for.

What's good to go with it?
Something cheap.
I'll be feeding 3.

Chili

Beans and ham soup. Super cheap, and super easy.

Butter.  

I looove cornbread.

Corn bread and chili.

My dad makes a good 15 bean soup, but it's a crockpot meal that takes all day.

Goulash and cornbread!!

1lb hamburger meat she'll pasta 1 can corn 1 can ranch style beans 1 can of diced tomatoes and 2 small cans of tomato sauce

I usually do a crock pot one too, and use a ham bone for stock, but i've done the quick one with water. It's still good IMO. you can google the soup your dad makes and see if there is a "quick" recipe.

Do you think this would be good with cornbread?

Cowboy Casserole
adapted from a recipe at Taste of Home
1 1/2 pounds ground beef (I used 80/20)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can (15.25oz) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons sour cream
1 bag (30 oz) frozen tater tots (I used Ore-Ida Crispy Crowns)

thats really similar to tator tot casserole, and i wouldn't eat it with cornbread just cos it's soo filling. But, if it sounds good to you, who cares? Sometimes i'll make two totally random things if i want both.

I'd just add corn and maybe diced ham to the cornbread if that was the main thing I was wanting haha. I always eat corn bread with soup beans though, and that's just the jar of beans with onions, soy sauce, and ham...because that's how my mom made it.

I already have chicken, so maybe I could use chicken instead of hamburger....
