Awesome, thank you! And what kind of bottles did you use? I want to be able to still nurse when I'm around the baby but dont want it having the confusion.

Stand your ground. They don't know what they're talking about when it comes to that stuff. They are major formula pushers

I never used special bottles or anything. I did have one friend who gave me a breastflow bottle, but I just never used it much. I liked just the plain old Avent bottles. We introduced the bottle around 6 weeks (I had my mom babysit), and never had a problem. When I returned to work (2 months with 1st, 3 months with 2nd), the transition was seemless because we would always occasionally have them use a bottle, so it wasn't a total shock 3 months after birth.

Tommee tippee bottles are supposed to be great for breastfeeding because they are so similar to a nipple

How many people went back to work and pumped and breast feed in the afternoon and night? I would really like to breast feed exclusively for the 6-8 weeks I'm off work and then pump when I go back to work , but still breastfeed when I'm home and at night if possible. Has anyone been able to do this without problem? I've heard stories both ways baby refuses to breastfeed once you give them the bottle or some people said their baby did just fine going back and forth. I'm praying that if I exclusively breast feed the first two months going back and forth should not be as hard since he will originally be use to breast feeding. Thoughts, comments and experiances please?

This is my fear. I have to go back to work as well.

That's pretty much what I did. However, I would give the bottle occasionally before I went back to work so LO was used to the back and fourth. I pumped at work, and exclusively BFed at home. Didn't have a single problem, although I realize not everyone has the same experience. I finally weaned one at 18 months, and the other at 22 months.

Well I'm condifent we can do this! D-E-D-I-C-A-T-I-O-N! We have not been successful in life to give up on something we really, really want to do. Just a nervous wreck about it. Honestly I'm more paranoid about breastfeeding then I am about giving birth. Not about like breastfeeding in public or anything like that just about the fact that I have never done it and where giving birth is going to happen, breastfeeding I know is not going to be as easy. (easy as in I'm going to have to do more then push and be in pain for quite a few hours) Owell I'm counting down the days. EXCITED. Good luck to all

I used lansinoh lanolin after I'd breastfeed every time for the first week or two. After that, the pain and chapped skin all went away never to return. With my first child it was so bad that I would cry when she latched on! And I felt guilty that she was drinking my blood....

How can you tell whether they are comfort nursing or actually nursing?

I can tell when my daughter stops swallowing, she is no longer taking in milk.
