Jail Sentence=Abandonment

Do you think a father that serves an extensive jail sentence in essence, essentially, abandoned his child(ren)??? Also, he committed this crime, knowing he might get caught and serve a severe prision sentence.

IMO yes a grown man should know right from wrong and like you said he committed the crime knowing he might get caught/extensive jail sentence.. he knew this going into it and the thought of him not seeing his children did not stop him in any way committing the crime so yea he is essentially giving up his children.

By the court's opinion if they serve at least 7 years or longer their rights can be involuntarily removed because they are considered to be no use to the child and have neglected their responsibilities as a parent for not being there.

If I remember correctly, They can work while in jail/prison and send the money they make to their family...

I dont know, but I do know its not good for the child to see a parent and have the parent snatched away and reappear and so forth.

My sister has 2 kids with her BD. They met when they were 14 and he was on house arrest. They are 23 now and nothing has changed. He spends his life in and out of jail. She doesnt really allow him to see the girls, but when she does she calls him Jordan, so they call him Jordan. They dont really know its their dad. They think its their moms friend. Probably best that way so she doesnt have to explain why he is gone months and years at a time.

I didn't know about everywhere. The prison where I grew up, i believe they could and I know the one in Fort Worth TX they can. my ex bf was there
