Yep I would say that is threatening

i don't believe in dropping the F bomb to your children or cussing them on a daily basis but I think even a child understands at that point when a word they aren't allowed to say is used that it is meant 120%, the kid is slapping people hard enough to leave marks I am shocked it doesn't use worse language than that....

For me, it depends on what the child did.

It isn't somehting I'd say to my kid, but eh, whatever. The parent shouldn't be surprised if the child uses her bad language in the future.

Threatening to spank isn't an issue, but I think the wording was inappropriate.
