There are many selfish things parents do, many you listed. A bad parent is one who doesn't do the right thing for their child and causes mental or/and physical harm.

I must be a smurf mom. I stick my kids in front of netflix with a snack and a drink in the am. those bitches are up too early for me.

How are they stupid?
Second hand smoke leads to cancer.
Sleeping while your child is awake is irresponsible.
Hitting a child before it can understand makes no sense.
I should have worded the last one better. I mean toddler age, I guess? Not like a newbie. And when it's awake, obviously.

I love smoking and smacking my baby.. but in all seriousness, those are kinda lame.

I work nights and even if I didn't I'd still figure out a way to try and sleep in a bit, occupy baby, and sleep sitting up while on the couch...

and gettin my smurf on... I would have never had sex if it wasn't for nap time.

Not saying that mom should ALWAYS be up with the kid..

The only time a mom is bad to me is when they do not care or bond with baby and absolutely refuse to either get the help bonding with it or let someone else care for it-- leading to neglect and abuse of the child.
I believe the majority of mom's have the best intentions in mind for their children and therefore are good parents. But even good parents make mistakes. No one is perfect.

Apart from the obvious abuse and neglect, selfish choices..

I think it makes a person a bad parent when they knowingly refuse to better themselves and/or their life.

To give an example: not toughing it out and getting the needed education in order to get a good job that pays at least minimum wage and is a stable one. Not wanting one. Not striving to be an intellectual and learn things. Lack of ambition to succeed in life, and the like.

Smoking around the kids makes you a bad parent?
Put them in that bubble when you go out.. wouldn't want them to be exposed to LIFE.
I'd rather explain it to them than hide it.

Bad parents are neglectful, abusive, or put their children in potentially dangerous situations (usually out of selfishness). Parents being HUMAN do not make them bad. Children of smokers, and even children whose parents had sex next to them while they were sleeping infants will grow up just fine.

lol I do this too, at least for a hr until the morning hits me. Like seriously who wants to be up and active at 6am!

Unless my youngest is crying in the morning, she plays in her crib. And DH and I have definitely snuck off to the bathroom for some mid-day lovin'.
