Smoothie/juice diets?

posted 4th Nov
Ok, this is probably a dumb question but do smoothie/juice diets work? If you do it right do you feel they are actually healthy and if you do lose weight, do you actually keep it off when you start re-introducing food into your diet?

I don't know if I could handle it because I love food but I gained a few lbs back recently and am wanting to get down to about 105lbs and KEEP it off. I am exercising more again and eating healthy but what about smoothie/juice diets?

Anyone tried one? Did it work?

If you plan on having smoothies the rest of your life it would work but if you plan on eating regular food again I would say measure your food and use portion control that's the best way

I do that :] I do the whole calorie counting thing to and eating organic/healthy foods. I was just wondering if it helps kick start weight loss or if it causes you to gain weight back. D:

They are awesome. You might think it's not a lot of food because you are drinking it, but it totally is!
Like for one cup of juice of mine, I use 8 carrots and 3 oranges.
For another juice of mine, I use 3 apples, 3 oranges, 1 celery stalk, a ton of spinach.

I can't do spinach because I get kidney stones but I am thinking kale and stuff. I need to look up some good smoothie recipes!   We have a smoothie maker I just never use it lol.
Maybe I will replace one meal a day with a smoothie for like a week and see how I feel. I am almost vegan anyway half the time. When I was full vegan I lost the most weight the easiest but it's too hard. I eat sushi with fish like once a month or so and sometimes I have cheese but that's about it XD. I have not had land animal in 7 years. ;P

I've been on this fruit and vegetable and aloe vera juice diet for a week, and I was also drinking citrus juices, and I was so surprised that i not lost but gained 3 pounds( Even though both fruits and vegetables have laxative effect, maybe I lost water but definitely not fat. So even though juices are healthy they are not calorie free and sugar is sugar whether it's a tablespoon of sugar or in a glass of juice.

I juice and I make healthy smoothies. I do it for the health benefits mostly, but you could definitely lose weight replacing meals with them.
