My 12 yr Old Son Has Become UnBearable:

He Has ADHD,
His Meds Have Been Adjusted
His Attitude Stinks, He Seems To Think He's Grown At Times.
He Has Become Seriously Disrespectful At Times, and At Other Times, He Is Such A Sweet Child, But Lately He Has Had This IDC Attitude, His Father and I Have Tried Everything Possible and We Are At A Loss For What Else To Try...

Any and ALL Advice Is Very Much APPRECIATED

First that typing is annoying to read.

Second I would take him to a therapist. My doctor told me that when kids have adhd there is another disorder just about always comes along witih it.

OMG that typing is so hard to read. How can people even type like that?

And he's about to be a teenager. Get used to it

Because it is. I know its not how you were taught to write sentences. But at any rate... Ok. Well have you thought about getting him tested for depression or bipolar? Just to rule out anything.

That part of her comment was annoying to read. There is nothing wrong with your typing. Good grief.

I would agree , but some of the things he is doing in school are beyond anything I can blame becoming a teenager on... but I know that alot of it has to do with becoming a teenager...

My little brother is the exact same way, except he's 15. [for some reason puberty is JUST starting to hit him.]

I just want to smack him lol. But I think he's just trying to be a teenager and grow up, and my mom isn't really letting him.. She still brushes his hair in the morning before he goes to school, she gets his clothes out in the morning for him.. She even picks his zits, and gets super angry when he tells her to quit touching his face. She wants him to stay a child, and he wants to grow up, but every time he tries, she gets mad at him for back talking.. She really doesn't get it. She won't even let him dye his hair, even though I've been dying my hair since I was 11, and I've been dying my little sisters hair since she was 10

I'm not saying you act like that towards your son, because I don't know you, but maybe he feels smothered so he's rebelling? Maybe just give him some space? Back up a bit and look at the situation differently.

wow my phone was set on every first letter to be capitalized and wow thats what a couple of you focus on, I was asking for advice and I appreciate every bit of it, but no offense I don't appreciate being critisized for some thing so stupid as "my typing"... I know that my son is about to be a teenager and I know I have to get used to it, but there's more to it than that and I was simply asking for advice .

Well I did give you advice. I just pointed it out to you. I wasnt trying to be mean. I hope you find an answer on how to cope with your son.

They are saying your typing is bad becasue you capatalize every word (I think) lol.
I have a 14 yr old son (adhd as well)... And he is an absolute ass. Love him to death and can be the sweetest thing ever, but yes teenagers suck. Trust me when I say it gets worse. I am dreading how my girls will be when they get older.

My son has freedom, he picks out his own clothes , and everything , he has an 8 yr old brother and we make sure that we allow him to act his age and be the "BIG" brother. That is why we don't understand why he is being so defiant ,we have even tried instead of just taking things away, we have tried giving him things he wants and letting him know its up to him and his behavior to keep the things he wants..

Have you sat him down and asked him WHY he is being so defiant? I had to do this with my stepson who is also 12 with aspergers and he was being unbearable and totally out of character. I relate to some of it with being in puberty, but I also found out he is having trouble making friends at school and is becoming depressed. ADHD could also be lingering with another disorder that you aren't aware of... perhaps get his therapist to do another evaluation or switch?
