Do you think teens are able to be good parents?

Of course they are.
Anyone can be a good parent.

Of course, probably more of the bad parents are young ones- but of course a teen can be a good one.

What the hell kind of question is that?
Even an adult can be a smurffy parent.

Age isn't a determination on how well a person is able to parent. Maturity is. I know a lot of people in their 20's and 30's that are terrible parents.

Yes. There are good and bad parents in every age group. Of course being a teen makes it harder, but not impossible.

I've seen some awesome teen parents and some real smurffy 30-something parents. Good and bad parenting happens in every age group.

I think teens, because of their maturity level most of the time, usually have a harder time becoming a great parent, but they have the potential. Just like older parents have the potential to be terrible parents.

I think human beings are able to be good parents. The only problem I have with young teens (meaning too young to be employed) having kids is not being able to earn a living and financially provide for the child they brought into the world and claimed responsibility of. Can't rely solely on love; money is a necessity to keep bellies full and bodies warm.

Do I think that makes them a bad parent? No, but I think they're making a selfish choice by bringing a new life into a poor situation.

Yes, of course they can be good parents. I know some that are. I also know some smurffy 30-40 yr old moms.

Age doesn't define the kind of parent you will be. I know quite a few so called bad moms and their ages rang from all in between

Depends how young we're talking about here. 13-15? No. There's no way. You can't get even get a job at that age. You're still a kid yourself. 16-19? Absolutely.

A 12,13,14 believe will have a hard time because they're just kids   but then again we can't define a good parent by their age, have seen 30 year old behaving like teens and teens behaving like adults i mean u have it all out there o_O

I disagree. I had my son when I was 14. He's four now and I'm happy to be able to say that I was a good mom. No, I wasn't perfect, but who is? Of course it was very hard and yes I did have to depend on my mom. However, I don't agree that because of that fact I am not a good mom.

I do have to say, though, there are many more bad 14 year old moms than good ones.

Yes, a friend of mine became pregnant at 12, and now at 26 yrs old and 4 kids later she is the best mom I have ever met.

She moved out at 13 on her own just before her son was born, her parents didnt have room for her and a baby, she went to school never dropped out, never had CAS involvment with her and her son, who is 14 now, she was a single and really young mom.
She is the most caring and loving mother ever.

I know not all teen moms can own up to the responsabilities of raising a child, but the majority of them can.

I an considered a teen mom, although I feel at 18 when dd was born I was not really so young IMO. lol But I am and was then a good mom.

I also think that young teen girls who get kicked out and shut out of their families lives for being pregnant are more likely to be the ones who fall in the bad mom catagory, not always but the ones I do know, not having the support at a young age can have more "bad" effects on them then actually having a child so young.
If that makes sense. lol
