Chapter books for 4 year olds :)

posted 4th Nov
I've been reading to the kids before bed. Chapter books. We're finishing up Charlottes web and have the origional winnie the pooh lined up. Whats next? Good ideas? Needs to be engaging for a 4 year old and a 3 year old, easy to understand, with short chapters. I'm thinking The BFG and James and The Giant Peach would be good. Looking for GOOD literature, not stuff like captain underpants   (which I Loved as a kid, but i'm trying to expand my kids education, LOL) If its a book thats been made into a movie, that'd be banging too, I think its fun to read to them then have them get to watch a film version.

Ahh, I have an entire list on my husband's laptop, but not on this one. We've read Charlotte's Web, too! My daughter loved it. We're currently reading Chronicles of Narnia.

I think that Peter Pan, The Cricket from Times Square, and Hank the Cowdog might be good books to read to youngsters.

We've so far read Treasure Island, The Wizard of OZ and Tom Sawyer with my 4 year old. He really, really loved Treasure Island and The Wizard of Oz.

Naturally his favorite character was Long John Silver, the back stabbing, mutinous, murdering pirate. Lol
