Ryan it is.

...... Hello all

I am expecting our first little girl January 15th, 2013. We have a 2 year old son named Corey.

My husband really likes the name Ryan for a girl. I also think it's really cute. We're pretty much stuck on it. The ONLY thing I do not like is the spelling. I think we should feminize it.

The spelling I've come up with is Raiann. He much prefers Rian, but I think that looks too much like Rain? I just want to make sure it's pronounced like Ryan or perhaps like Rye (pronounced like the bread) combined with the name Ann. Thus, said like "Rye-Ann".

Suggestions/ comments are welcome for the spellings of the name Ryan for a girl

Thanks!

I went to high school with a girl names Rian. However, my nephew is a Ryan Junior and they spell his name Rian. I think it can go either way, boy or girl.

Eh. If I were to use Ryan for a girl, it would be Ryann. But that's because SO's name is Benn (yes, a double 'n') so I would use that to tie it in, plus I like it spelled that way for a girl.

Not everyone is into using masculine names for girls though.

I've seen it spelt Rianne, Ryann, and Ryanne...I think it looks to "masculine" when you spell it like the boys version.

I know a few girls named Rian. Raiann or however doesn't look like Ryan.

I have a 'boy' name. Most girls are Rylie. I like Riley though.

I think Ryan is cute for a girl. In fact we almsot name one of my daughters Ryan. I would leave it as is imo. I think when you start changing that name up it will look more like the name should be pronounce Re-ann or Rain.

I dislike names like that on a girl but if you're going to, please stick to Ryann. Those other spellings look ridiculous.
