re: breast feeding in church?

posted 4th Nov
Im not religious nor catholic my husband and his family are catholic and his mom frowns on my bf my kids period! Crazy old bat.... But i have taken my kids to a christian church so far so they can have the experience my aunt tried taking my 2 1/2 yr old to the kids room and the pastor in the middle of everything had her stop he said it was fine and no one made kids not to fuss and went on from there about the topic of breast feeding and actually encourges all the moms to stay put he rather them sit and listen than feel embarrassed about feeding their babies i was surprised because alot of religious people that ive met and ran into dont think its right to bf at all unless your in your own home but still dont stop me so yeah if they cant be mature about doing the best you can for your babys health and development than let them get themselves over it....

They used to have one years ago. They took it down and made more room for
girls clothes and sports apparel.

In my family we have the opposite problem. My husband was raised strict catholic his mother BF all 3 kids and has no issues with it at all. My mother and grandmother the christians are the ones with the big issues. My grandma told me it was disgusting and my daughter would be a lesbian.

yeah, i can't say i have completely lost my faith or chosen a different one, but i have a more lax view of my religion. i like that we went to church, and i liked that it was structured enough that you basically always knew what was coming next (like the mass being the same all the time, but for the sermon by the priest which differed weekly). it was like, you always knew exactly when you were supposed to stand or sit or sing or listen or respond or whatever else. but.... we moved and i went to college and had a kid and moved again, and so i never have found a church to have a connection with or to like that, so... i just stopped going. idk.

Every Kingdom Hall I have been to has a special place for nursing mothers/baby care. Even our assemblies and conventions have rooms set aside for infant/child needs.

That is cool that your aunt pastor was cool about it. When we had a outbreak of teenagers getting pregnant together in our church we weren't encourging them being pregnant so young but we did hold breast-freeding classes for them cause some of thing couldn't afford the classes.

I wouldn't have an issue with seeing a woman breastfeed during church. I'm not catholic but we are christian and do go to church and I don't think anyone would have an issue with it.

God made boobies for babies to eat. I don't think he's offended by it at all. People need to get their religious knickers out of a twist and get over it.

Some people think that it will present an unbearable temptation for men. I think women have been held responsible for the actions of men for far too long.

I can 100% agree wholeheartedly here!
