re: breast feeding in church?

in a catholic church, i would cover up. lol, we're tight asses. i would also be in the "crying room" because in my church growing up, generally all infants and young children who couldn't behave were discouraged from being in the main part of the church. also, it was disrespectful to eat in that area of the church too, unless it was the holy offerings. so.... if i still went to my catholic church, i would be okay with breastfeeding, but i would do it in the crying room and i'd be covered up.

I'm not catholic but I nursed in my church, right in the pew. I tried to remain modest, but I don't personally use a cover because my kids never liked them. We also had an awesome nursery room, but sometimes I wanted to sit there and just listen to the sermon.

I'd either cover, or excuse myself to the lobby or nursing mothers room.

i would cover and be discretful about it....if you can still hear then i might step into the hall way its not wrong thats just what i would do

because some churches fin it to be disrespectful to eat in church. if you shouldn't be bringing your own crackers, then you shouldn't be breastfeeding. at least, that is how it would have been in my church.

I've never been to a church that cared about babies being BF or FF...

Does your church not recognize the different needs of an infant and an able-bodied adult?

My church in co has a nice room with speakers so you can still hear the service.

Some churches....Sure why not. But like at a Kingdom Hall....Never. I think it really depends on the church you go to. If they have an area where parents go with their children I would get up and do it there.

Well, their God gave them boobies to breastfeed. So, shouldn't be a problem..

Lol disrespectful to feed your kid from the most natural thing known to man?. Sounds pretty smurfed up to me   why are you not allowed to feed your child?

I don't go to church OR breastfeed- but if I did, I'd go right ahead and feed my baby in whatever way that baby was comfortable. If that's uncovered so be it. You'd think "god" would be ok with me using my boobs for what they were intended. And if other people are distracted? Maybe they're the ones with the problem.

I can't imagine not being allowed to nurse, or being given nasty looks for doing it. God rewarded Moses' mother for her faithfulness by allowing her to nurse her son....I mean, God made it what it is.
