Quoting ☠Jenniefahhh:" You don't think they want to be? Isn't that contradicting your whole fat and happy thing? Being happy with something is wanting it."

It isn't about being happy that you are fat. It is about being happy while you are fat or that fat doesn't exclude you from happiness in the present moment. I don't think anyone really wants to be fat and have to deal with all the stigma and negativity surrounding that body size in our society.

Then they aren't truly happy.

Oh believe me!, me too! Look at my profile and the work I accomplished! over 100 lbs the healthy way, and I feel amazing. I was NOT happy at my highest weight, and neither was my body. I do not know why anyone would not be doing everything they could. I cant believe I let myself get to that point.

Quoting Caleb Levi's Mommy:" The quote makes sense because many people who think they are overweight actually aren't; however the woman in the picture may have health issues."

Anyone who has a picture that we can look at may have health issues, though.

Does this girl appear to have health issues from her picture?

What is it that makes you believe that they aren't truly happy? What is true happiness?

I'm not skinny but i can say that i am "truly happy". I have a loving husband of 5 years who loves me for who i am, not what pant size i wear. I have two beautiful kids that are my world and i their's. There are many things that define happiness in this life, not just weight. Because I am happy I can focus on health and the weight will sort itself out. My main concern is being healthy for my family so i am around a long time. But i am not going to beat myself up over a number on a scale--that takes away from who i am.

"no matter what means" includes things like dangerous crash diets and pills with severe side effects. Heck, that includes people who basically eliminate eating and won't work out because they don't want the added weight of gaining healthy muscle.

The point is that health is of optimal importance. Yes, if you focus on health, with MOST people this will take care of weight (to some extent). I think it is always smarter to focus on health rather then weight. Eat right. Exercise. This WILL most likely reduce weight in obese people, and it is FAR smarter then attempting to eliminate weight without care for health. THOSE are the people who regain the weight.

Just so I can finish my thought...

This is Stacey Irvine

"Ever since she was a toddler, Stacey Irvine has eaten little else but chicken nuggets and the occasional portion of chips.
Now, at the age of 17, she has been warned by doctors to change her appalling diet or die.
The factory worker – who says she has never tasted fresh fruit or vegetables – had to be taken to hospital earlier this week when she collapsed after struggling to breathe.

Doctors found that her 15-year ‘chronic chicken nugget addiction’ has left her with anaemia and inflamed veins on her tongue.
So deficient was her body in vitamins and nutrients that she had to be injected with them."
