Depressed....

I am 4cm dilated having painful contractions but they are not regular. I am so depressed being I am so progressed and still pregnant. I watched "A baby story" a few days ago and there was this woman in full blown labor, they checked her cervix and she was only 3cm! How the hell am I walking around like this and not in labor myself ugh! Have any of you women dilated like this without a baby? How did it go? When you finally went into labor was it fast? Im getting checked again on Tuesday and if im 5cm this time they want to induce me, seems my body just continues to dilate without actual labor. I was induced with 4 of my 5 kids so maybe this is why my body is having a hard time keeping my contractions going?

With my oldest one I walked around dilated to 4cm for over a month before I finally went into labor with her. She was 2 wks late but she was also my first. When I got to the hospital I was still only a 4 but I progressed quickly and had her 5 hrs after getting to the hospital. With all three of mine I always dilated early and when labor finally started I progressed very quickly. I dilated with all three of them from 7cm to 10 in a matter of minutes. My last child was born 3hrs after arriving at the hospital.

I was the opposite, was having regular contractions (every 5-10 for a min each) but when they checked me I was only a cm dilated for like a week until 40w6d I was 3cm and they broke my waters to get things moving. Hadn't slept in three days coz the contractions were so bad. Luckily I got to 10 cm within 2 hours and had LO 6 hours after my waters were broken. Hopefully it means that things will move quickly once they decide to really kick into gear   good luck!

Urgh I feel your pain, I went into labour on the Friday afternoon and was still only 5cm at 12am Tuesday morning. Just hang in there!
Unfortunately my contractions stopped once I reached 8cm and had to go on pitocin but I had him at 5.10pm on the Tuesday.
