ava's roto-virus vaccine..

Ava went for her 9 month checkup yesterday and got her rotovirus.. like she does every time for hervisits...Well she had a fever thru the night last night and all day today... pretty hight too... around 102-103 im guessing since 2 hours ago i gave her tylenol and its still 101,,,,,Do you think its from the vaccineor is she just sick running fever???

btw... her stats:

19 pounds 6 ounces
29 inches tall

50% for weight and 75% for height

It might just be from the shots. Just give her a luke warm bath to try and bring it down to make her feel more comfortable. My ped. gives me papers to see the side affects that the shots may cause. Look on there to make sure that is one of them.

Ive never heard of a vaccine for a rotovirus...hmmm.

I would watch her til morning....if she still has the fever, call the doctor.....sounds like she may actually be sick. When my kids run fevers (if they do) with vaccines....its usually no more than 100.5 degrees.

The vaccine is in liquid form and they just put it in her mouth...

She has never gotten sick from her shots or her roto... maybe this will be her first time unfortunatly

My son also gets the rotovirus vaccine.

my baby had a fever after his shots.

my dr said not to worry unless its above 104, or lasts for more than 48 hrs

The fastest way to cool her down would be to wipe her with a damp rag and sit in front of a fan! Tylenol doesn't work for PJ... we use IBprofin

Motrin would work wonders i know.. but she gags on it.. must be too dang thick ... her gag reflux is rediculous!

I actually GOT the roto-virus this year and so did my husband and we almost ended up hospitalized as adults, so thank god my 5 month old did get the vaccine.

Yeah, he got his first dose at his two month appointment.

Im glad she got it and gets her vaccines but i hate the fever that comes with it!!
