I say yes. If the children witness any form of abuse, it could very well traumatize them.

I think if it is done in front of the children then it is child abuse. I think if the children are not present, then no, not at all.

So, yes, I agree with the sentiment of the ad.

Some states have the law written that way as well, while some states don't consider it at all in relation to custody or child abuse charges.

I agree & disagree. If it happens in front of the child, where they can see it, hear it, then yes, IMO it's child abuse... But if the child isn't around, cannot see it, cannot hear it, and mommy & daddy "act" find around them, I don't see it as being child abuse.

That makes sense I suppose. I guess it varies from situation to situation but I think that if it happens right in front of a child that abuse should be considered in the charges.

I wouldn't necessarily say domestic abuse is considered child abuse, but I will say that it does have a huge impact on kids.

My brother and I grew up hearing our father beat the crap out of our mom at night. My mom always knew when it was coming on and would get us in bed before hand. We knew better than to come out of our room until morning unless we had to use the bathroom so we never actually saw it. But we always saw the aftermath on our mom and throughout the house.

I think the abuser definitely should and the abused partner should have a choice. Either get out, get help and dont go back or face charges
