I work with disabled adults and use retarded on a regular basis. It's a medical diagnosis.

My MIL forbid the words fart and toot from being spoken in her presence... which is why I got a horrified lecture from my then fiance from ever saying the word in her presence again. Apparently I embarrassed him. lol

I don't like the word shin... because shins freak me out because it is just skin right on top of a bone. Makes me squeemy just thinking about it!

No. all 12 of my clients have mental retardation on the diagnosis page of their ISP.

The terms they used to use a long time ago are Borderline Deficiency (IQ 70-80), Moron (IQ 50-69), Imbecile (IQ 20-49) and Idiot (below 20). I think the word retard will eventually join ranks with these past descriptors.

wow, I use idiot, imbecile, and moron interchangeably. I never thought they sounded as sever as retarded.

I try to not swear. Does sometimes slip out though, lol. I don't think kids should have swearing constantly around them.
