Cora has a nasty habit of waking up at 5

I toss her the iPod and let her watch netflix while I doze for a bit.

I wouldn't let her in the living room or kitchen by herself. She has to stay in my room or her room

I actually baby gate the other rooms

She is 4.5

ETA: She NEVER sleeps in. never past 7

My 2 1/2 year old sleeps in sometimes. Usually when he wakes up he just comes in our room and cuddles and watches his morning shows. He's been doing that since he turned 2, so I've been okay with it since then.

Dd is 1 and we go bed at 10 ish and wake up at 10 ish... Lol I'm a spoiled sahm. When she gets older she will (hopefully) get on a better night time routine. This is what works for us right now though!

Eta sorry I didn't even answer your question!

my kids are 10, 8, and almost 4. They all get up early. They don't even wake me up anymore. I tell them to, but they don't. The older ones.. no big deal. Really... even the youngest... is fine with the older ones. BUT... I feel bad. And... even though I know they are safe (they just get up and watch cartoons until I wake up) I know if they mention it to their dad he will blow it out of proportion. They do it to be nice, (letting mom get more sleep), but I tell them they should get me up when the youngest wakes up.

Don't feel bad! We used to do that as kids! I was 10, brother was 7 and little sister was 4. We would wake up eat chocolate chips in a cup and watch tv until my mom got up around 9 haha...I miss those days!

thanks.. makes me feel better. However.. after divorce... everything apparently is a big deal. He's constantly trying to make me look like a smurf mom. I'm a nurse, and have never been the type to run to the dr for everything. Yet.. suddenly that's an issue too. Every sniffle he runs to the dr with them claiming I refused to. (which, I do, with good reason)

My 10 yr old sleeps in on sundays only, we have to be up for sports and out the door on sat by 9am. lol

My 4 yr old is the early riser in this house, usually around 6am, she gets up turns the tv and gets herself some cereal to munch on, I get up when the baby wakes up around 7-8am on sat and sundays.

She has been doing the up and cereal thing since she was 3 yrs old.

Np. i wouldnt feel bad, if you know they are safe. lol Some nights I go to bed before they do, on the weekends. LOL Last night I went to bed at 11pm (I was tired early) and both girls were still up to about 1amish watching movies. lol

They are good kids, but my 10 yr old babysits her sister often (she has her sibling babysitters course) so legaly she can. lol

I baby-gate my daughter's room since she was one and we don't have getting out of our room until 7 am. If I am still sleepy I set her up with a movie and some milk and go to back to sleep (she is now almost 3). She has always been well behaved. She only sleeps in sometimes and usually it is when she comes back from her father's house. She never seems to get enough rest there.

I wish baby gates worked for mine lol. My 3 yr old has been able to take them down for over a year!

OP--sometimes if they get up super early (they are 2 and 3) I will shut my door and let them watch a movie on my laptop in bed next to me while I relax. They used to sleep until like 9, then they started getting up with SO at 530, then for a while they were sleeping until 8 and now it seems like 730 is the norm. I cant wait for the day we all sleep in haha.

We did this to my dad too when we were young. We loved having morning time without dad around lol.

As for the divorce thing--sounds like hes gonna blow anything out of proportion so "sleeping in" isnt gonna make a difference. lol. If anyone were to ask your kids about it, they would say why they do it--to let mom rest. I dont see anything wrong with that at all, and I doubt anyone else would either. It would be a different story if one of them was a baby. I would trust my 3 year old to get up with her older siblings in the morning. *shrugs* I wouldnt worry about it, you're a great mom!

My daughter is about 3.5, she's been getting up, changing into underwear(she wears a diaper to bed) and getting herself an apple and then playing/watching TV by herself since she turned 2. She wakes between 5:30 and 6:30 everyday

I always wake up when I hear her moving around but I stay in bed and check Facebook or just relaxing until at least 6:30/7, I refuse to get up earlier lol
