Teething and Runny Nose?

My 3 month old is starting to teeth, we noticed 2 hard bumps on her gums, in addition to the excessive drooling, and her mouthing anything she can get her little hands wrapped around. Well I told my mom that we finally discovered the bumps, and she said that explains her runny nose... I've never heard this! Her nose has been runny on and off for about a week now, which I thought was just allergies. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

yup runny nose is common in teething babies

Averi has had a runny nose for the past 4 days. I believe its cause of her 5th and 6th tooth dropping down and settling. She has no other symptoms of a cold or allergy so i figured its just the new teeth messin with her sinuses.

i don't know why either. but i know it sure does. i nannied for 10 years and saw lots of runny nose, teething babies

That's crazy... I had absolutely NO idea. I knew she would probably start teething early, she's been drooling for a month or so! But the runny nose just started last week. Thank you guys for answering.

No prob! Averi started at 4m and didnt get a tooth till 5m 2w. So you might be in it for a while. Now were 6 teeth in and I dont understand the runny nose and teething thing. This is the first Averi has had a runny nose and its for no reason other then her teeth. *shrugs* Good luck!

justin started teething at 2 months also. by his 3 month b-day he had his bottom two. then at 6 months he cut 6 more. now he is almost 11 months and is cutting 4 molars. he had a runny nose all 3 times!

Lucas had a real runny nose while cutting tooth #3, it cleared up after the tooth cut through.

this helped me out! I thought Cassie had allergies. Her nose has been running for a few days.
