Quoting Kendra Sandeen:" OK so I am due middle of March and expecting to a VBAC also. This is my fourth child. My last pregnacy ... [snip!] ... necessary. Keep me posted on what you decide. It will be nice to know that I'm not the only mom freaking out about this."
You have to have a c-section for early labor? And by early you mean not full term? (36 weeks or earlier?)

You are exactly right, Dr.'s like to plan stuff out and they just want to rush and get it over with. I hate that.

If you read the whole story, you clearly understand why I would rather die than go thru another c-section. I have a consultation appt with another Dr. on the 26th this month to talk about VBAC and if he will accept me as a patient. Please, please pray for me that this goes in my favor. In the end, I want what's best for the baby but if I really don't NEED a c-section, I do NOT WANT one! lol

I am pregnant with my third, and having a VBA2C in march. The hospital is not at all supportive, but through research i discovered there's not a damn thing they can do about it. Legally, they have to do what you want them to do.

Ya thats what my doctor told me.. If I go early like 37 or earlier they will take the baby by c-section just because it will be to high risk for me or baby and they want it in an controled enviroment. They also will take the baby if I go to long for the fear of him being to big . .. I'm getting kinda scared cuz my baby is measuring big.. like a week bigger than he should be so they are pretty sure I will be going early but I will do everything in my power to not have a c-section. Starting my 24th week today doc appointment tomorrow and another ultrasound in a month (28wk) to get more measurements to see how baby is... My stomach has already dropped so fingers crossed. P.S sorry it took so long to get back to you :-/

My first baby was a c-sec. due to failure to progress. I've had 4 vaginal births since then. My last baby was a c-sec. because she was transverse. I am due again in March and will have another c-section just because the risk of rupture is a bit higher and I know from my last c-section that my uterine walls are thin. However, my doc also has said that if I really wanted to try another vaginal birth, he would let me. (I am opting for the c-sec.) I think you should find another doc who is willing to work with you or just keep letting your doc know that you don't want a c-section and see if he will change his mind. If you do end up with another c-section, it probably won't be as bad as the first. (I was very upset and nervous the second time around but it was nothing!) Good luck! Also, my doc doesn't really like to induce those who have had a c-section because it puts added pressure on the scar. However, he did just say that if I choose to go that route, they might need to do a c-section if they say any problems during labor. I was induced with #3 and didn't have any problems.

My second child was a c-section and Im going to try a VBAC with my third in March. Stand up for what you want and make them do it. Lots of Docs dont like to do VBACs cause it takes to much time and resources. Hope you get the birth you want and not the birth the Doc says is right.

you are deff. not tthe only one babe, im due in march also.and i had to under go an emeracy c-section for my son 6 yrs ago, i live in florida wich band VBAC'S. But ive been resurching this and alot of doctors and hospitals wont do them any more saying " its a risk to the mother and baby" and " there insurance dose not cover it" but all in all what it all come down to is time and money.. there has been an unacouted amout of sessecfull VBAC'S done, it is natural and heathyer for mother and child with less risks of infection to you and less fateal risk to the baby, but c- sections pay out more to the doctors and hospitals. im not looking forward to this surgry at all, my frist c-section was horrible, and the resson why i had to undergo a c-section is becuase my doctor at the time rushed my delivery and my body was not ready, but in order for you to get your VBAC you will have to find a lawer that deals in that aera and fight the doctor and hospital, that is the only way i have found to make it possible, it is aginst womens rights, no Doctors are aloud to make you undergo any type of treatment you refuse to, and this is one major thing ppl keep looking past when talking about our rights, everyone worried about birth controll and abortions, but noone really looks at the isuse we deal with to give brith to our children now a days, they push meds and unseesisary surgarys, we cant even chose the possition in wich to give brith anymore... lol im sorry im rambling on about this .. its personal to me and offends me in so many ways and iam sure to you too, but all in all i hope it works out for you <3

No you're fine! You're right about it all. I didn't know VBACs were illegal in FL. So crazy how it works. I too was told it would be too much of a risk for me and baby but you're right, it's about the Dr schedule, money and resources. It's sad that we can't birth our babies the way we want to.

I too am due in March with my 3rd child and am planning on doing a VBAC. I had a vaginal birth with my first and a C-section with my 2nd, my Dr. doesn't do VBACs period so I just found and was accepted to a Dr. who does. I will see them for the first time on the 7th to continue prenatalcare and find out if im a good candidate for a a VBAC. I DO NOT SEE WHY I wouldnt be but I guess Ill find out. My second was a scheduled C-section cuz he was found to have a meningocele 2 weeks before I was due and it was large and they didnt want me to even start labor f fear it would rupture... They said my son did not have a goodchance of survivaland I was transferred to a hospital with better neonatal care for a C-section 2 days later. Everything went well even thoug recoverywas rough, my son is 3 1/2 now and cwalks despite them saying he would be paralyzed from the neck down. He had his surgery and will be followed by specialists into his adult life but is otherwise a pretty normal little guy. This baby is normal and doing well and I hope to share the experience of a vaginal birth with myhusband. (My first child I had at 16 with a loser in high school) The whole experience was so much different and the C-section was scary, I want to share the happy emotional non-scary experience with my husband. I just looked online for forums about VBACs in my area and found a hospital that several people were mentioning, got tge info and called for a Dr. that would do it. I wish you the best of luck in finding a Dr. who will consider YOUR wishes for the birth of YOUR child.

Hi, I'm due March 26th, and have had a previous c-section but 10 yrs ago with my son. This time I am trying VBAC. My doctor supports it but doesn't want me to go over my due date. If I'm a day over, he wants me to have a c-section. 10 yrs ago, I was 2 weeks late with my son, never went into labor, was induced, then was in labor 29 hrs, cervix very slowly dilated but never fully to 10cm, my heart rate was dropping, to make a long story short, emergency c-section saved my, our, lives. So on one hand I can understand my doctors concern if I'm a day over my due date. But I'm glad that I chose to try VBAC. :-) ..keep looking
